Excellent value for money and quality! - Computers and accessories

I installed this in a car that already has a Samsung 970 Evo as the boot drive. When I first got it I ran some speed tests as I was interested in comparing it to the much more expensive NVME drive. I was impressed! It was definitely slower on sequential read/writes, but it was actually very comparable to other tests I ran. If I were building a new computer, I would just go with a 1TB WD Blue. Much better!

Works perfectly; good value for money!

Runs like a champ! Plugged it in, inserted a screw to hold it in place, then turned on the computer. First nothing! I thought, ah, maybe I should have bought the M key PCIe type instead of this B+M key SATA III type. I rebooted and it was recognized (ugh). Turns out M.2 is backwards compatible with PCIe support (at least on the Gigabyte Z97X motherboard). Go to disk management, initialize, format, assign drive letters, done!

500GB works with Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM

I bought this for Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6 inch FHD Laptop (Intel Core i3 - 7100U 7th Gen 4GB DDR4 1TB 5400RPM HD Intel HD Graphics 620 Windows 10 Home), Obsidian Black that I read in other reviews has not been tested with M.2 drives over 250GB. However, I decided to give it a try and the system worked great. I was lucky enough to have a screw that other computers seemed to lack. This SSD turned the computer into a fast booting machine and hasn't given meโ€ฆ

I have this 1TB SSD module to replace the terribly slow performance module that Glyph has in its Atom (Glyph Atom Grey, 275GB SSD, USB-C (3.1 Gen 2), USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 3 compatible) external SSD. I soon found that my new Atom needed a much faster, higher capacity module. Luckily, I found an "open box" offer I just couldn't refuse. This 1TB WD module has everything the Crucial MX300 module doesn't have. The CrystalDiskMark benchmark puts sequential reads at 568.8 and writes at 557.3. That'sโ€ฆ

UPDATE. I just bought 2 more and am still very happy with these M.2 drives. The only difference now is that I buy bigger rims. I bought a similar SSD drive 2 months ago and I liked it so much I told everyone how my computer now boots up in just 3 seconds. I decided to upgrade my other main machine that I use at home. I bought another ADATA flash drive and am having problems with it. It's getting hot, has bugs and has been slowing down for about a month. But doesn't really make sense. that's how

Fast drive but terrible WD support tools

I've had many types of hard drives. Samsung, Crucial, WD, Maxtor, etc. In any case, it's decent enough HD. Unfortunately, WD has reduced the cost of tool support for this. Many people will probably clone their hard drive like I did. I only have 1 M2 drive bay so I left my existing drive in the PC and used the enclosure to clone the hard drive. At least that's what I've done on many other types of HD in the past. However, if you're using a WD tool (Acronis), you'll need to have WD create yourโ€ฆ

Fast and tiny 1TB drive without cables!

When I was building my new computer I knew I needed an SSD as my primary drive and I wanted it to be big enough so that I didn't have to constantly worry about space and all my data must keep files on separate disk. This is my first M.2 drive and I really wasn't prepared for how small it is: It's about a quarter wide and deep and three quarters long. or power. On my motherboard it's hidden under the heatsink so I can't even see it, although I wasn't sure if the sticker needed to be removedโ€ฆ

It's great for everyday use and at a great price.

I bought a pair of these for my new Alienware 13 R3 7700HQ/Gtx 1060 laptop as a portable solution with all my files, apps and games. Out of curiosity, I decided to take my fast scratch drive, a Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME, off my desktop and do some informal Windows boot testing on the Evo and Blue 2TB, as well as a small number of Steam games and - Apps perform I use to browse. what will be the difference. When using the laptop, there is nothing remarkable that can already be ascertained. Minimal

Perfect. But. Why doesn't any brand in the world have this damn screw?

I won't say anything about the SSD performance, others have already done a good job there. My goal was to upgrade the original 256GB SSD in the Alienware 15 (R0 or R1, doesn't accept NVMe SSDs) to a larger 500GB. When I chose WD Blue, I was attracted by the combination of good reviews, price, and availability of Acronis True Image cloning software. Obviously, there are many options for cloning software, many of which are free and effective (look at you, Issei). I was pleasantly impressed withโ€ฆ
