When the clamps are in hot water, the soft ends of the clamps (orange parts) become too loose and fall off when I open the clamp. It's not a deal breaker - the clamp works great with or without it. These clips replace some others I had that were tin or whatever - half of them rusted, half not - which were also recommended for sous vide. . I like this one a lot more.

Can't believe they actually make this specifically for kitchen use! For years I've made my cowboy coffee with Bobby attaching a filter to the side of the coffee pot. Yes, I know why I didn't buy a new coffee maker? Do not ask. However, these clips come in very handy for that, as well as other small tasks around the kitchen like sealing chips bags etc. They are so cute and fit right in the palm of your hand. One package was more than enough for my busy family.

I have no idea what sous vide is or how it works so these clips were not bought for that. I took them because I need clips for use in the kitchen for various reasons. I thought the price was good for the amount you get so I can use them all around the kitchen. I've read other reviews (I always read reviews before I buy anything) and so far I don't see any issues with my set.
