Great body grip

I have to say this grip feels great and makes my 3 Series more fun to drive. Such a simple item but much better than the wooden handle that the car came with.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Requires socket

I will put this on every BMW I will ever own.

Perfect shape and weight and an unexpected but significant shift difference. Easy to install - just remove the stock shift knob and attach. It looks clean and sophisticated. I'd rather not have an M on it as I don't have an M car, but it's small enough that I don't mind.

It weighs well and feels great

It weighs well and feels great. Of all the modifications I've made to my car, this is my favorite. It's the part of the car that I have the most contact with and it completely changes the driving experience. This is a very popular modification and it was the cheapest shift knob I could find. This is an original BMW part!

Worth the price; exudes quality and enhances driving pleasure

I winced at the price when I bought it, but I'm fed up with the tall, light and creaky faux wood switch on my 3 Series. I am very happy with the purchase. This derailleur is heavy, shortens shift times, feels good and looks good. Made my sports sedan sportier and more luxurious. Clean regularly and keep the skin off your exuding hands and this should be continued.

Great shift knob

Just received it and fitted it straight away. The first impression is amazing, it improves the shift feel enormously. The leather is soft and feels good in the hand. shorter than stock so layers appear shorter. Some people have complained that it's not straight, I noticed that too, but I think it's the design of the gear knob as it feels more natural in the hand than the original, so don't let that distract you.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Discontinued model

I like this shift knob

I like this shift knob. I have a 5 speed E46 and it fits perfectly with a good bop to engage it. The leather is a duller color than my previous original shift knob. I like the feel in my hand and the grip feels lower than the original. It's a decent weight but not as heavy as other comments make me think. I would take this grip instead of similarly priced leather grips. It feels a bit thicker at the base, which I think provides better grip.

Great upgrade over the series switch in my 325xi van!

I recently got a 2001 325xiT station wagon and needed to replace a dangling shift knob. It came with a nice wooden shifter but the bottom plastic tabs were broken and it didn't hold up very well. When looking for a replacement, I wanted to stick with the original BMW gear knob. The OEM wooden handle was somewhere over $200, but this one was under $100. It was easy. It has a much better weight and feel than a standard blade. I've really liked it so far, easy installation and great price. Would…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Only available in white
