I gave this mug to my husband and it clearly says to hand wash. He used it once. I hand washed it with a soft sponge and the whole pattern started to peel off. I am so disappointed!

I loved this mug, but after four uses, Bob Ross' face started to peel off. It wasn't in the dishwasher and I didn't use a sponge. I mostly drink tea and rinse the cup right after use and rub it with soap and water with my hands.

Bought as a Christmas present. When heated, the pattern will appear on the mug. At room temperature it is black as shown on the mug. Can be in the microwave. There is no dishwasher and the rule is no soaking. Hand wash gently without wiping, or you will scratch the surface. It comes with instructions for washing etc. It certainly drew smiles and uses.

I bought this mug as a gift as both the recipient and I are Bob Ross fans. However, I was unaware of what happened after Bob's death and how his former business partners used his name and appearance for profit until I watched the documentary on Netflix. I now seriously regret this purchase and intend never to purchase a Bob Ross product again. A sad story, and Bob and his family deserve much better.

This product is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever bought because I had such high expectations. When you pour the coffee it looks really great, when it's cold it's just a black background but it still has Bob's smiling face on it.
