Very upset! When my original glass broke, I decided to just replace the glass instead of buying a new French Press. Frustration began to determine what size to buy. The original glass gave no information. Ultimately I decided on this one. It fit into the mount, but the filter mechanism didn't slide down smoothly. This is strange. This jar looks like the real product; in a Bodum box, an inscription on the side, about the usual price for a replacement: but it sits free. I've changed the glass several times, but always from KitchenKapers, and it always fits the frame perfectly. This is the first time I've replaced it with Revain and the glass is slightly smaller in diameter which is so annoying we have to be very careful not to let it fall out if you tip it over. Replacement carafe is much thinner and lighter than the carafe it replaces. My French Press is about 10 years old. The new replacement carafe slides in and out of the metal case so easily that I have to hold it while pouring my coffee. My guess is that the thinness of this new carafe makes it easier to break and the coffee also probably cools faster than a thicker, older carafe.
