VERY glad I read previous reviews and ordered XL. I have a petite build, but I definitely have big thighs and a big butt. So if they were smaller, they would be too tight for my liking. My street pant size ranges from 6 to 8, but I never thought I would have to take these pants up a size.

Although I usually wear small to medium sized clothing, I forgot how ballet gear sizes change. While shorts could technically fit, the elastic would be so uncomfortable that a size XL would probably be better (5ft 6in, 145) as most dancers would prefer to wear them loose and with a rounded waist. Too bad you can't return them.

I used the reviews to find the right size for my daughter and yes it worked! The correct size for a girl who wears 0-2 in dress or 25 in pants is medium.
