I have arthritis in my hands and it hurts to hold books for long periods of time. I needed something to open the book, so all I had to do was turn the pages. The description seemed to meet my expectations, however it didn't hold even the smallest, lightest book or magazine. The tongues were flimsy and the overall construction was cheap.

Perfect for lying on your back and reading in bed. this is not a book stand but a book "positioner". All in all, I'm glad I got it. That suits my needs exactly.

I was surprised at how small and light this book stand is. I figured there was some weighted material in the bottom so it could stand on its own. It's feather light, and if you have a large or heavy book you'll need to hold it down (which defeats the purpose) or prop it up with a pillow behind it. I used my Bucky heating pad and attached a book stand to it so it wouldn't tip over. It's uncomfortable to hold the screen during long zoom calls or anything that requires real attention to the screen. He's holding my iPad at such an angle that I can barely watch movies. I regret the purchase.

Absolutely perfect. I'm a law student and I spend most of the night burning oil at midnight and reading 1000+ page textbooks. I had previous wrist surgery so the weight of the books was really taxing on my wrist. This pillow is exactly what I needed. It's also great for light paperbacks and my iPad.
