I'm building a house with a foundation right on solid rock.

I'm building a house on a foundation right on solid rock. Need lots of 11/16" holes to anchor 5/8th threaded rods. After using my Bosch SDS Plus Bulldog (30-40 minutes per hole) I gave up and bought this guy - RH850VC! What is the difference! Took less than a minute to drill 8" in rock without much pressure! I'm impressed. This bit is a monster!

Pros
  • Switch button: choice between hammer drilling, chiseling only and Vario-Lock. Impact Energy/EPTA (ft-lb): 9.3 ft/lb. EPTA
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

We drilled holes for T-bars in hard rock!

We live on a big ledge. We only dreamed of a fence until we got a puncher! As a result, we now have 2.5 fenced acres and a dog who couldn't be happier! We bought a 1 1/2" chisel and were able to drill perfect sized holes for T-bars in hard rock. The Bosch drill made the impossible possible! This is a real workhorse. Let the weight of the drill do all the hard work We've used it to break up rocks in the driveway (with a big chisel) and do some other big jobs I'm very happy with the bit's work.

Pros
  • Speed controller: for controlled drilling and demolition. Current 13.5
Cons
  • Unsure

With shield or on shield! - Drill

This impact drill should have been worth every penny...at the last minute our company was asked to cut holes in the floor for 12 doors with dorma recessed closers (the dealers who hired us would not mention that the walls and doors we installed had these recessed closers). This is usually done by a concrete cutting contractor hired by a general contractor, but there is very little time to plan and do it. After plunge cutting concrete with a 7" diamond wet saw blade in a Skil saw, the hammer inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best-in-class impact energy: 12.1 ft-lb of impact energy ensures maximum productivity for all day demolition work
Cons
  • Something else
