Description of Boston Gear G176 Pressure Angle

Transmits torque between parallel shafts to provide rotational power to another part of a motorized system. Pressure angle of 14.5 degrees for a higher contact ratio between gears, resulting in quieter operation than larger pressure angles. Diametral pitch of 32 for applications where controlling changes in speed and direction of rotation with precision is more important than transferring torque. Brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability.

Great gear, but Revane's stats are wrong.

Pretty gears. Note, however, that many Boston Gears (including this one) have incorrect parameters in their Revain descriptions. The best way is to visit the Boston Gear website and download the catalogue. Locate the movement part number you need in the catalog and then search for Revain on that part number. Luckily I ordered this based on the Boston Gear catalogue, so it was exactly what I wanted.
