Very good for aquarium water purification

This product is exactly as advertised and the price is very reasonable. The water in my aquarium immediately looked shinier and became crystal clear. I also noticed that he reduced the growth of diatoms by about 3 months, meaning he was working to remove phosphates and other contaminants that algae feed on. Highly recommended.

Always buy from the seller

As with many other reviews, this item was not wet as stated on the box or in the description. There is no guarantee of "freshness" as the jar is not sealed with tape to prevent unauthorized access. It's best to buy one at your local pet store or aquarium/reef store. You can definitely check the tamper protection before purchasing any product.

Good product! by Fish & Aquatic Pets

Ordered this product and shipped immediately, ordered on Wednesday and it was here on Friday. I put it in my media compartment, make sure to rinse it thoroughly. I flushed mine with reverse osmosis water but there was still a bit of dirt in my water. My water is crystal clear! I ordered 5.5 ounces for my 20 gallon, it was quite difficult to fit in my filter but when I got it I haven't had to worry since.

Suitable for fish and aquatic animals

Works well. I use this on a 36 arch front reef with LPS and soft corals. I also have Antennata lionfish in my (oversaturated) community. I use this in a Seachem Tidal filter but put it in my own filter bag. I don't like how tight it is because it doesn't fit as well as I like due to the shape of the Tidal basket. I wish they would sell it unassembled but it really isn't that much. To be honest I used Elite as well as Purigen and Rowaphos together. I don't see any difference in any of the three…

I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but it can cause large swings in phosphate levels if not used carefully.

I don't think this is the best idea for small tanks unless you are going to be using it all the time and changing the fill fairly regularly. Place them in small reef tanks with algae, as sudden swings in phosphate levels can wreak havoc on the system. If you already have algae in your aquarium, this is not a good idea. Adding that much phosphate medium will suddenly remove the phosphate and you risk reducing the algae population and causing other organic pollutants and ammonia surges when the…
