Description of Boyesen 630 Power Reed

For: Kawasaki KX80 1986-1987; Yamaha Blaster 1988-2006; Yamaha YZ80 1987-1992. Power reeds use a patented dual stage fiberglass design for more air flow, more air velocity and more power. The top reed is lightweight and resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPMs; the stiffer, bottom reed is ported to provide maximum flow and horsepower at higher RPMs. Longer overall life: Boyesen power reeds outlast all other aftermarket reed petals. Minor change gives major horsepower improvements and fuel economy. Fit type: Vehicle Specific.

Do what Reid does.

Leaves do not perform, period. You just change the throttle response and curve. Retired motorcycle mechanic, I know what you're doing. This one for the blaster does it well.

Pros
  • Power blades use a patented two-stage fiberglass construction for more airflow, more airspeed and more power.
Cons
  • The negative impression

Fixed Starting Issues

Great product allowed my 1998 kx80 to start again at half power. The old cane was fried and barely able to work, and when it worked it pretended it was getting too much gas. Definitely a great product

Pros
  • Installation Type: Vehicle Specific
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

good investment for anyone building an engine

Very great product, I have a 06 Blaster Hi-Comp piston kit, FMF Gold Series Fat Pipe, quad muffler , FMF Jet Engine Kit and a few other add ons but I bought these and have been very happy with the throttle response that has kept the bottom and top of my quad strong and running much smoother since replacing the old reeds with this product have.

Pros
  • A small change gives a significant increase in horsepower and fuel economy
Cons
  • Empty

Fits my Blaster 88

Installed a Yamaha 88 on my blaster, gave it a bit more throttle response before deciding to redo the top and bottom but I haven't really tried but once with a rebuild as it is first I got paint and have no base to compare to the new engine. I've only done one slow ride around my area after the restoration and my quad ran perfectly with the ones installed.

Pros
  • For: Kawasaki KX80 1986-1987; Yamaha Blaster 1988-2006; Yamaha YZ80 1987-1992
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
