Not ideal for my suitcase but I just needed a rubber grip. Compared to the Ace/Samsonite grip, the steel cleats are about 1.5mm thinner and I'm not sure how strong the spring steel built into the rubber grip is. As a result, the handle appears to rattle and flex in the stowed position. Still better than a broken pen. Not sure if he can handle 50lbs on a 6ft throw but we'll see when he gets through the airports.

Very nice handles, stylish look and fittings included. In my ideal world there would be a chrome version and at this point I would use it on all my guitar amps (with longer screws to accommodate the extra thickness) as the strap itself is very ergonomic with a very grippy shape. I've installed one of these on a 42 lb cupboard and it's showing no signs of wear so far, so despite my initial concerns about the integrity of the castings they appear pretty solid.

I just installed this grip and it fits perfectly in a medium sized Samsonite case with exactly 15cm between the metal end caps. It's a bit tight so the handle sticks out a bit but not enough, that would be a problem. I think I actually prefer it that way because it's really easy to wrap my fingers around it for a quick grip.
