No instructions, no Allen key. Confusing, but after pulling on it I realized you just need to apply a split pressure to bend your arms.

Very durable! for camera and photography

Machined aluminum and screws for tightening. I've bought dozens of spring loaded iPhone holders over the years and this clip is a game changer. Doesn't fall out at any angle. Use with or without a phone case. Lightweight and durable. decent price. What could I want more?

The cold shoe slot is not deep enough for anything.

If you just need a phone holder that attaches to a 1/4-20 screw like a tripod, this one will fit most cell phones. However, if you also need a 'hidden' cold shoe on top, buy something else. The head of the lag screw on top is preventing me from attaching anything I have. It was a waste of $20!
