Description of Bristle Abrasive Coating Attachment Polishing

Proper size: the abrasive bristle disc is 2 inch in diameter and comes with 1/4 inch round shank attachment; The proper size makes it easy to carry, use and store. Different grits: you will get 4 pieces bristle discs with different grits (50#, 120#), 2 pieces for each grit, which can suit your different needs; You can use green 50# grit on hard metal like steel, and use white 120# grit on soft metal like aluminum. Multi-use: the coarse bristle disc is suitable for polishing, finishing, blending, deburring, coating and rust removal, which can remove stubborn coatings easily and provide a uniform finish. Flexibility and durability: the flexible bristles are well-spaced and strong, requiring less effort and have larger contact area than wire brushes; The bristle disc is made of quality material, which is elastic, tough, durable and not easy to wear, allowing you to use for a long time. Waste of time, money and effort

I purchased this abrasive coating attachment for my CNC machine hoping it would help me with my sanding needs. Through trial and error, I found that it did not even last through one project before it wore out completely. The brush bristles looked and felt flimsy, and the attachment barely held up to any pressure. As an industrial and scientific user, I needed something more durable and reliable.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Flimsy construction and unreliable performance

Try a few for your application

I bought these based on a YouTube video of a Mercruiser headgasket in action. I didn't find them really effective for sealing surfaces compared to wire brushes. But they worked fine for polishing head and manifold bolts (too thick for thread cleaning) and some other work. They held up well on the drill, so they're well made. I just haven't seen enough functional benefit to repurchase this type of abrasive.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Damaged

You get what you pay for

I have been using the 3M brand for 5 years. I use the 3M version every day and they last for months. They are made of harder plastic and last 1/10 longer. The 3M brand is 50 grit and they say they are 50 but more like 80. The white that says it is 120 grit is more like 200. I will use these because they are so cheap are, but I will never buy anything else 3M in the future.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
