I work in IT with a degree in this field, it's a PAIN IN YOURSELF :)

Like I said, I work in IT, crazy degree and all. It took 1 hour to connect them after multiple errors. Once they FINALLY contact the device after a big headache, they work. Third-party hardware is sometimes available at this price.

What a waste of my time and effort

I bought this product to add to my connected devices in my home. When I got the plugin it came with confusing instructions and there were multiple instructions for multiple apps and no app got the plugin to work. Not to mention that after all the hours I've spent connecting it to apps and then Alexa, it never connected to anything that would make it work. Luckily I bought it from Revain so I had the opportunity to return it.

Flawlessly easy to set up and then add to Google Home.

I'm impressed with how easy it was to set up given the frustrating time I've spent messing around with WeMo plugins. As the instructions say: 1) Connect 2 ) Connect to Broadlink SSID 3) Wait for the system to ask you to login to Broadlink 4) Enter your real SSID and password as well as your email address and the name of your a plugin 5) Receive email with activation in 30 seconds 5) Open Google Home app, add a device, select NoAPP 6) Wait for the 7-digit email code and enter that . No app…

Exactly what I needed (and I didn't have a single new application)!

My house is not a smart home and I don't need it, I just had to turn on a light without messing with a poorly designed switch. This plug replaced an old remote plug that was left on constantly throughout the day. The plug was easy to install using the Google Home app I already have and worked to turn the mast light on and off. I mostly use the button on the device itself (the outlet is easy to reach), but the Google Home remote access feature was also handy. I had no issues with the plug…

They exceeded my expectations

I'm not usually a fan of Wi-Fi devices, but these are impressive to say the least. Installation is as simple as plugging it in, making a device connection using your phone's WiFi, and activating with your phone. I haven't had any issues with them shutting down or crashing. They work very well and the range they capture is phenomenal. My phone barely connects to the hub. I have them where they are but they work fine. I am impressed. I have three of these in my shop a good 40 feet or more from my

Setup is very similar to other Wi-Fi hotspots

What I liked most is that it doesn't take up much room in the outlet. Other similar versions tend to be slightly larger, making it more difficult to use a second socket with another 3-pin device. I find the reset button on the front much more convenient for reconfiguring the device and evaluating the status. I am concerned that if the outlet is on the side of the plug, it could strain the plug and weaken the outlet over time. Despite this, the connection was very secure, so this is just a…

A smart plug that simply WORKS.

Setup is not as easy as Apple products, but not far away. My second, I have one that drives a UV-C purifier lamp in my HVAC system and one that drives a standalone dehumidifier. None of these elements need to be running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to do their job. So I set up temporary "procedures" work schedules in the Google Home app so that each device would turn on and off at different times, day and night, according to my needs. This allows me to reduce energy consumption and extend the…

Update: Support is hard to contact

Update: Support contacted me about this review. They kept sending the same instructions which didn't work the first time. I tried to explain what step I was on when I had problems but they just resent the same instructions. I don't think they read my messages at all. Anyone can accidentally receive a defective product and no one is to blame. However, if you don't want to try to fix the problem, then what's the point of a customer service department? I have several smart plugs at home and have…

Build updated firmware now doesn't work locally

One of the less expensive wifi smart sockets, I decided to try it with Home Assistant, an open source home automation system. With some effort I got it working. some time. I had to create an account on the manufacturer's servers to set them up via the cloud solution. But I could also manage them locally with a system like Home Assistant. That changed when the manufacturer released a firmware update that now forces them to connect to each other and not to my WiFi hotspot. Now the only way to…
