If I could bet a NEGATIVE 100+ I would. My children are as valuable to me as yours are to you. We have a German shepherd who pulls and is worried about other dogs and they pull so I settled on this collar. On the first hike we did, my Shepard pulled like they do and one of the "stainless steel" rings broke and my pup broke loose as another dog and family approached.

This is the second collar of this brand/type that I have bought for my Rhodesian Ridgeback. I bought the big one both times. The first went well. The plastic around the end came off and I had to tape it. The second large size I bought was closer to average. I thought my dog's neck had grown so I measured it. Ambiguous product. I would look for another brand if unsure of sizing. It also rusts.

I bought this after an offer online and then read the reviews here and elsewhere. I needed a training collar that was smaller than a spiked collar or metal chain but larger than a harness (my dog is crazy about all harnesses, not food oriented, so it's difficult to train him on a loose leash). This collar works better than anything else I've tried and she acts and looks completely unharmed or intimidated when wearing it.

My pup is everywhere so I bought this collar to keep him under control. We train with it and sometimes use it while walking. It's been a while but I really see the result - he's not disappearing into the fog anymore and I'm very grateful because I was so scared that one day he might jump right in front of the car or something. We still don't let him off the leash when potential dangers are around. But back to the collar :), the collar itself is good and high quality. The rope has never caused…
