The best for your Brother printer

I only use new cartridges in my Brother printers so this can be expensive (but not as expensive and annoying as what happens with random quality refills and remanufacturing). When used with the Color Economy print preset, they last a very long time (yes, even with blacks, it's better to use the economy color setting than grayscale as all cartridges last longer). I always get excellent performance from color cartridges; Black cartridges typically require a cleaning program (every 3 cycles) about

Pros
  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Almost never

High quality/large volume

I try to print the vast majority of my documents in black and white to save money on color ink and because I need color documents, while they can look nice, I rarely need them. This high performance, high volume product has been in my brother's printer for over a year now (suggesting it isn't drying out) and the print quality is just as good as the first day I used it. No spitting etc. Sorry I can't report on the number of pages printed, but even if I could, some are documents and other photos,

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Can't remember

I label my new cartridges when I install them in my computer. I get use of mine for over a year. I understand that this is a purely subjective statement, your mileage may vary. But I print multiple sets of multi-page 11x17 technical drawings weekly. I buy OEM cartridges because a problem with a leaking cartridge or poor quality ink costs me much more than the amount you save by buying a remanufactured cartridge or a poor quality cartridge. Brand.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Doesn't fit my printer

So this should have worked with my Brother MFC-J835DW printer but it didn't. Very frustrating. I bought it to stock up and now that some time has passed I can't return it :(

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I've always used Genuine Brother cartridges and they work

I've always used "Original" Brother cartridges so I don't have a good benchmark to compare other options. I mainly print 8.5" x 11" office supplies and don't take many photos because the photo paper is expensive and the results are poor. On the other hand, my brother refills his cartridges and mostly prints stationery, which costs me well under a quarter. I've never made side-by-side comparisons, but I'm sure the brothers are doing a good job.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Poor print quality from this cartridge

Bought in July, only installed in February - ink inconsistency in this cartridge, faint print on paper, tried in various ways to correct. Wasted my money on this purchase. I will continue to buy Brother cartridges, I would like to return or exchange the money.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Security
