The same timer I remember as a kid!

I grew up with this timer and when I got married I had the same one as my mother. It eventually succumbed to years of abuse and I wanted the SAME timer. I couldn't find it at Walmart and got a Mainstays timer which was a thin piece of junk and I came back a few days later. I ordered my Lux Timer and it is the same as always. The only thing is that the arrow on the dial doesn't end exactly at zero. None of them ever appear, but this one is a bit further. But as they say, I timed it for accuracy,

They just don't make them like they used to.

I ordered this timer to replace the old one of the same brand (it was around 25 years old - my mum had it when I was little) after it had completely fallen on my kids. While this timer is similar, it's definitely not as solidly built as the old one. The plastic is thinner and generally feels thinner. Unfortunately, the newer deluxe timers are made out of cheaper quality plastic. A fall on the kitchen floor seems to be the end. Second, it didn't work. You need to dial the timer after 30 minutes and then for the time you want. No ticks, nothing. I tried going back to 60 like the old timer, but that didn't work either. The black timer was even worse. The dialer was loose…

The timer is repairable!

Just ordered a second Lux Classic timer for my second kitchen/bar. The first Lux timer has a date code of 03/12/14B indicating it was manufactured in March 2014. Just recently the bell stopped ringing as the timer started counting down to 0. I was happy - over 3 years in service. I'm wondering if a broken timer can be repaired. There is a screw in the case that holds the mechanism in place. I took it off and the handle and innards fell into my hand. So far, so good. Upon closer inspection, I…
