Description of BUD Industries JB 3954 KO Junction Knockout: The Ultimate Solution for Electrical Wiring Connections
Heavy duty 16 GA welded steel construction. Screwed on flat cover with key holes for easy assembly. Four wall mounting holes in back. Durable ANSI 65 grey powder coating. Measures 6" width by 6" height by 3" depth.
Contrary to what some reviewers have pointed out, I punched 1/2 inch holes very carefully and almost effortlessly. The box makes a very well thought-out impression.
This box comes with screws and mounting holes plus plenty of holes for wiring. The paint quality is good. Too bad he didn't have a knockout or two from behind but it's exactly as advertised.
Not much in a metal box but it works exactly as I expected. I plug in a 220V switchable relay socket, make a round hole in it and drill holes for socket mounting, it works fine.
Great box, nice and strong, lots of plugs BUT removing the right size plug is VERY difficult! I wanted a 3/4 inch hole but wanted 1 inch to come with it. I really had to grapple with this, I don't think it was punched enough during production.
Everything Bud Industries makes is well designed. This suitcase is made of high-quality material and has a double wall in the opening area. Corners are reinforced where included hardware secures the lid; The included mounting screws are strong, not soft metal. I highly recommend this and other Bud cases.
The box is solidly built and the lid really fits the box! The bolts aren't the usual poor quality I often see in load centers, regardless of the brand. Knockouts are a bit difficult to remove but I think it's the metal sensor. Very nice box and absolutely fine for the price. Keep in mind that this doesn't offer a knockout in the back if that's what you wanted.
I used this box when wiring my house for ethernet (to cover the cables going into the wall from the patch panel). It is very durable and worked perfectly with a few modifications. I had to drill a 2.25" hole in the back (because there were no cutouts on the opposite side of the opening, which is a downside) but otherwise no complaints - I don't think I'll ever replace it.
