Great buy, worth it!

I spent a good 2 hours getting the case on my Oldsmobile Silhouette before purchasing this kit. Finally gave up and bought the set. I was able to put it on in 10 minutes. It was a lifesaver and honestly cost only a few dollars more than buying a jack. Definitely worth buying. I recommend if you're trying to use it at weird angles (like me) a little tape holding the two ends together makes it even easier.

Simple, quick, permanent solution in 15 minutes

I watched a few videos on U-Tube and then took a closer look at my 2003 Cavalier. In my case I just removed the air cleaner tube assembly. (two worm drive clamps loosened) and transcable retaining clip removed - nothing else. A small six-inch screwdriver is required for the cable clamp as a tool. Pliers for fixing the channel for mounting the sleeve clamp. Using a 2 1/2 foot pry bar, carefully (with little effort) pry the bushing assembly into the transmission ballbar. Done - 15 minutes.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Hardly any workaround

Our car's (?) air filter blocked the socket so unfortunately we couldn't do it ourselves at home. When looking for help, not a single mechanic wanted to touch this product when we showed them. Finally after literally a month we found a mechanic willing to install it and it fell off after three gear changes. He tried a few more times, same problem. Luckily this guy had a harder stock bushing on hand that fit and worked great. We've been riding the new hub for over a week with no problems…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Moderately Easy and Fast

Like: Easy to use and quick to fix Like: Made longer than original material Like: Made in USA After release, you can slowly and gently insert a hand to release and pull out .Take your time, or you may catch (and scold) the bolts (2x). The cable and shackle (green arrow) come straight out of the room you see next to the expansion tank, no need to do the air intake etc. to remove. I'm lazy 1999 Olds Silhouette (like Venture/Montana) and probably a few others On this car design, this grommet fits…

IT WORKS! the best in transmission and transmission

so, the installation goes like this.!. Park the car and apply the emergency brake.2. Disconnect the dome-shaped connector attached to the level selector.3. Clean and remove any remaining bushings in the plug.4 Fit a new bushing (UP1KIT) following the instructions on busingfix.com5. Use a C clip or one like the one in the photo to push the new socket (clean white rubber piece included) into the plug. .While the emergency brake is still on and the vehicle is not moving, shift all gears e.g. from…

Pros
  • excellent price
Cons
  • sparse instructions

The beauty of the kit is how much easier it is to put the broom back in place, especially on the Sunfire where cables and shifters are a nuisance. The plastic guard and insert give the channel lock pliers something to grip and allow for brush insertion (manufacturer's videos show this method, which looks like the best way). The only odd thing was when I was looking for this kit, there is also UP1KIT17 listed for Sunfire (2002-2005) but this kit looks and works pretty much the same (bonus points

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Only available in white

Of course, given my bad luck, it wouldn't work for me.

This hub mount is easy to use but the problem was that it didn't work for me. The problem was that the bushing didn't fit completely into the gearbox's metal shifter cover (not sure if that's actually what it's called) so this was always a temporary fix. It stayed on for about 1 month and then at a very inconvenient time it stopped working so I had to spend 30 minutes trying to fix it again in a not so good part of town which involved removing the battery and wiring harness , just to get it to…

👩‍🔧Perfect repair for 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew RWD!

Recently my 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat stopped shifting from neutral to reverse. I had to shift it to park all the way and then back into reverse or neutral. The dealer said the bushing disappeared under the shifter cable/link junction. They don't repair bushings or just wear bushings so they said the entire linkage needs to be replaced. $295 total including labor, taxes and a new shifter (which is $50). I started my research, if nothing I would do it myself or do some rustic engineering to get it…

  • Great for me

Fits Corvette C5 Automatic Transmission

The bushing broke while shifting manually on a Corvette C5 (2004) and I was stuck in first gear. Getting to the socket is not that difficult. Remove the center armrest (4 Phillips screws) and the center console upper trim (two 10mm nuts, three T20 Torx wrenches). Disconnect any connectors you come across. The T20 is located next to the cigarette lighter, behind the mouthpiece and behind a small ventilation panel next to the ignition. Remove the four 10mm nuts holding this shifter assembly and…
