I sent it back. I put a belt in and tried it on. The ratchet worked very well, too well - I couldn't open it! Had to go to the bathroom, pull my pants down and have buckle surgery to remove them! Sorry, but the ratchet system is poorly made and very cumbersome!

I've been using this buckle for a few months now. It looks good, holds securely (I've never had a slippage from the ratchet) and is easy to take off to undo. I love how the darker indentations help highlight the silver on the buckle. Considering the cost of the buckle, the quality of materials and workmanship exceeded my expectations. Nice buckle (golden dragon) worn once, came home and tried to take it off - I had to lower my pants and pull the belt manually (the belt broke). I had a leather belt that was fairly easy to buckle. Wondering if you need a "ratchet strap" to use this buckle? Anyway I had to send it back, I can't afford to buy a new belt every day.
