I bought these for my daughter and while they are great she doesn't seem to have a reaction to metal which I was concerned about as she is only 2 years old. They're just a little big for your ears, but that's ok.

These butterfly earrings are gorgeous and not too big for an 8 year old. The only problem is that the spines come off too easily because the stem isn't very pronounced at the end. She sleeps in it and hasn't lost it, but I would be more comfortable with a more secure seat.
