Description of ๐Ÿ’ป Cable Matters 2-Pack 6 Gbps SATA III to eSATA Cable: High-Speed Data Transfer, 3 Feet Length

Internal to external connectivity changeover SATA cable is specifically designed to connect existing motherboards with SATA port to an external hard drive, enclosure or docking station with eSATA; Convenient alternative to using a USB port on your computer. Ideal for using an eSATA drive directly from a SATA drive.

Does what it should, you can't ask for more from a cable. Ideal for using an eSATA drive directly through the motherboard SATA connector when there are no built-in eSATA ports in the case.

Pros
  • also understandable for the old ones
Cons
  • A bit torn

Excellent quality cable

Didn't really need it, but both cables have been tested excellently! I think it's better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. Excellent quality.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Modern

Works Great!: Cables and Connections

Cable Overview (2 Pack 6Gbps SATA III to 3ft eSATA Cables. Cables work great. Don't know if they are shielded or not not, but I've never seen any other SATA cables, so I bet they are.

Works great when many other brands don't.

things work great while other brands don't. I don't know why some brands of sata to esata cables are not suitable for my application (4 port sata card to esata docking stations). It all worked great. I've previously bought a couple of Rosewill brand cables which looked the same but didn't work at all so I'm glad I found them for a similar price and had no problems.

  • Crossing my fingers

eSATA SATA Cables in Cables and Connections

Perfect if you need this specific type of cable. But it's unlikely that many people will need eSATA since it's almost been abandoned. The main disadvantage of eSATA is that it does not provide the necessary performance for a 2.5 inch external drive such as a USB3.0 SATA adapter. However, I had a desktop from that era, so I decided to test it, but after learning about this limitation, I wasn't worried.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Does what it says on the tin.

Exactly what I needed. For those confused, this mates the SATA connector found on all modern hard drives with the slightly esoteric eSata connector. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and since these cables aren't likely to be needed often by most people (I needed them for hard drive cloning), at this price point these two sets are exactly what the doctor ordered.

Pros
  • Cables and Accessories
Cons
  • Expensive

Pros
  • SATA cable
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

These cables are advertised as being shielded and they are, but apparently only in the same way as a regular internal SATA to SATA cable. In fact, it is an internal cable with an eSATA connector (shielded). I don't see any evidence that the extra layer of protection that SATA-IO requires is necessary. On the downside, the cable isn't as stiff as some of the non-round eSATA cables I've had. Rigidity can be an issue with SATA to eSATA cables as eSATA does not have the clip/latch mechanism foundโ€ฆ
