These cables are advertised as being shielded and they are, but apparently only in the same way as a regular internal SATA to SATA cable. In fact, it is an internal cable with an eSATA connector (shielded). I don't see any evidence that the extra layer of protection that SATA-IO requires is necessary. On the downside, the cable isn't as stiff as some of the non-round eSATA cables I've had. Rigidity can be an issue with SATA to eSATA cables as eSATA does not have the clip/latch mechanism found in redesigned SATA cables and when the cable is tampered with to connect to a SATA device , the entire cable moves, which can lead to eSATA Remove it from the connector. I've copied 6TB of data with it and haven't encountered any issues on any system so far. It will be interesting to see how it works on other systems. I think the reason this cable works so far is because the internal SATA spec is for 1m applications, which is what this cable is. , and I've had problems with poorly shielded cables in the past.
