Junk: Mic Cable

One side stopped working after 5 minutes and had a terrible buzz even with no sound and the volume control on my studio monitor turned all the way up. Avoid this cable.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Style 90

Keep one in your gig bag

Does what it's supposed to and does it well. Doesn't look cheap despite the price. Ideal for when you need to connect your phone or laptop and have used up all your stereo DI boxes. Just watch out for upstream 48V coming from stage boxes and consoles.

Pros
  • Alright!

If you use a computer, get an audio interface like schitt modi.

Used to connect my new studio monitors to my desktop computer. I used it for a while and then bought a USB audio interface with XLR connectors. While it was working, I switched to an audio interface with XLR connectors for speakers and noticed a difference in sound quality compared to my computer's built-in sound card. The cable is not to blame.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Incorrectly labeled good for stage and studio cables

I checked for continuity and everything worked fine, but the XLR with TIP went to the ring on the 1/8" connector and the one with RING to the tip. This has doesn't affect performance just be aware that the XLRs are mislabeled this also means the color coding of the XLR connectors is also wrong I also like that the XLR pins and the 1/8" "-contact surfaces look gold-colored.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Embarrassing

In general the quality is good

Bought because the cable can be taken apart. I need to connect an audio player to left and right speakers that are at least 4 feet apart. This cable is just right for me. Plug and cable quality is good. However, after a day of listening, I found that the labels on the XLR sides were wrong. The one labeled "tip" is actually "ring" and "ring" is actually "tip". I fixed it by swapping the color ring (red and black). It's not a big problem, if you want to buy it, you'd better check that the labels…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
