HDMI2.1 worked perfectly

The key worked perfectly with my HP ZBook laptop (NV RTX3000) and Samsung Q900R 8K TV, tested 8K30Hz and 4K120Hz with HDR enabled which makes the picture display fast and the 8K picture looks great.

4k, 120Hz, 10bit on computer accessories and peripherals

I just bought an Asus Strix g15 laptop with Nvidia 3070. With this adapter I can output 3840x2160 120Hz 10bit RGB to my LG TV OLED CX. sound works. HDCP Compliant. Most of the negative reviews you'll find here are from people trying to use an adapter with a GPU that doesn't support 4k 120Hz. Appears to be a strong nylon cable.

Pros
  • Constant test results

4k@120hz HDMI 2.1 Working

I can confirm that this adapter supports 4k@120hz HDMI 2.1. It worked great with my PC and I had no lag issues. However, my 4k TV supports G-Sync and G-Sync did not work with this adapter. I don't know if it works with Free-Sync. Still easy to install, no drivers required, no external power supply, just plug and play.

Works very well after some tweaking for gaming

As my HDMI port failed on my gaming laptop which I connect to my 144hz ultrawide this really worked.1. There were serious problems with it when just showing it on a monitor or TV. It only looked like lag when gaming, but the trick was to set the custom resolution to the correct frequency, after which the lag in games went away. Selecting display settings in Windows showed a lag at 120Hz or 60Hz. Nvidia custom resolution settings solved this problem! 2. It's worth the cost and did a great job at

4k 120hz HDR at it's finest

If your display can support 4k 120hz HDR, this adapter will do it all. I bought it for my LG CX but unfortunately gysnc doesn't work with it as it looks like a displayport due to the compression algorithm in Nvidia control panel so lg cx doesn't show as connected via hmdi which looks like bass back normal gysnc, but TV gysnc basically supports VRR. It's not a deal breaker as I'm taking 4k120 over HDMI with flicker free HDR etc. Full support for 12-bit full color and wide gamut HDR at the TV'sโ€ฆ

It works with LG CX 48 "!

The product works very well overall. I have used it to connect my Thunderbolt3 laptop to my TV and it delivers the promised 4k 120hz RGB as promised 10Bit .Very happy with the product, would buy again! However, there are some small issues which I can't tell if they are the result of the adapter, the HDMI cable or just a general setup.Firstly, if you are running Windows switching to HDR, the connection between the TV and laptop is lost so the adapter needs to be reinstalled to get it workingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No instructions

I don't like that this product is advertised as a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter. HDMI 2.1 has a bitrate of 48Gbps, Thunderbolt 3 has a bitrate of 40Gbps, so immediately this product cannot transmit a full video only through the Thunderbolt 3 port and is a bottleneck. In fact, it's better to just use a USB-C to HDMI 2.0 adapter because it can still pass 4K60 and can do it over USB 3.2, not just Thunderbolt 3. If you have a gaming laptop, might this make sense You need to use the USB-C port for video

A must for OLED gaming on the 2080ti!

I have never reviewed a product but this product worked so well right out of the box that I think it should make a great review to help other PC gaming enthusiasts when in doubt. I have an EVGA 2080ti and wanted to experience 4K gaming on my LG CX OLED display. To play games at 4k resolution, 120Hz, and full 10-bit RGB color, you need an HDMI 2.1 output from your graphics card. The 2080ti is HDMI 2.0b only, so you won't typically be able to get those output settings. I tried using the club3dโ€ฆ
