Operation Computer and Accessories

Cable worked with one display cable but not the other. Both of the original cables met the display cable specification, but the Revain Basic cable didn't work at all. I wanted to use the cable as an adapter between two computers, rather than removing and replacing the cable at the back of the monitor, which is a bit more difficult to get to. Also, I was worried about constantly changing the cable in the monitor port and figured the adapter cable could be replaced at a lower cost than the…

  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Poor Set

DisplayPort switch from a poor man.

I use the DisplayPort input on one of my desktop monitors and a few different laptops. I looked at DisplayPort video switches but found them too expensive for this simple task. (Most of them appeared to be full KVMs, not just video switches. I also need 2560 x 1440 support at 60Hz.) Instead, I just plug this cable into a cable tray where I have three cables from different systems. I only connect the system I'm currently using it with.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • negative is present

Doesn't work with Rift S

Received as an extension for Rift S, but unfortunately it doesn't work. The problem is that with the headset on, the picture quality deteriorates in a moment. In some cases the headset went completely black and the audio still worked; they tell me that the cable has problems with data volume or electricity. Some say it works for them; This didn't happen with my setup (GTX1070). Useful as a universal extension, but not for Rift S

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Version 3 FT - Works with Rift S

My wife and I share the Rift S with two separate PCs and it's a bit of a hassle to fiddle with the back of the PC to plug in our headset so have I bought two of these (along with a USB extension cable) to have a short extension cord to make connecting cables easier. I've read some reviews that said they had no luck with cables of any length, but I'm happy to report that ours worked flawlessly. I've tested both machines, one with a 1080 TI and the other with a 2060 Super, and the cable doesn't…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent

  • Was damaged

Use on Oculus Rift S as an extension cable.

Works seamlessly as the Oculus Rift S extender, part of the DisplayPort cable. I use the Cable Matters USB to USB Extension Cable (USB 3.0 Extension Cable) 6ft Black for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Playstation VR Headset and other devices to extend the USB3 side of the Rift S-Cable. Again, both work fine, no problem. For example, if you have an extension from the computer, the location of my computer makes it easier to disconnect the Rift S from the computer without having to access the back of my…

Quality Displayport extension for 4k/60

Bought this extension so I can go faster from gaming desktop to laptop on an Asus 4K monitor with just a DP connection. For my work laptop with a 3ft DP cable + this 3ft extender I don't get any dropouts. Same goes for my Surface Book 3 with a 5ft USB-C to DP cable + this 3ft extension cable. However, on my gaming PC (with an old R9 290) I very rarely get a disconnect when using a 3ft DP cable in a power strip. This only happens maybe once every other play session and I have yet to figure out…

Works for my Oculus Rift S extender

This worked as an extender for my Oculus Rift S There seem to be reviews using this cable. I just want to point out that adding 6ft is the data rate limit required to run Oculus. I honestly think it's USB performance that drops with expansion. My motherboard has a VR-ready USB port that delivers a little more power than the others. If you have this and it's powering the monitor but not the Oculus, make sure you're getting the USB power you need. You can buy PCI-E USB cards, which offer slightly
