Description of Ultra Thin HDMI Cable with Redmere (Ultra Slim HDMI Cable) 4K Rated with Ethernet - 15 Feet - by Cable Matters

Redmere cable offers High Speed HDMI features including 4K x 2K video resolution support, full 3D pass-through, an audio return channel (ARC) to connect an A/V receiver, and an Ethernet channel to network a Smart TV without any extra cabling. Active HDMI cable has a booster and equalizer chipset that transmits the HDMI signal and 5V power farther and more reliably than a typical HDMI to HDMI cable; Ideal companion for 4K displays or devices with low power HDMI output like a tablet. Direction matters when installing this cable; Redmere HDMI cable is NOT bi-directional; Labeled connectors indicate the TV (display) and the SOURCE (device) ends of the HDMI cord to avoid confusion; TV (display) connector incorporates an embedded chipset that boosts the signal from the source; It only functions in one direction. Lightweight design combines gold-plated connectors with molded strain relief in a flexible 36 AWG solid copper conductor cable that weighs only a few ounces; Slim HDMI cable provides a snug and secure connection to vertical HDMI portsor to smaller equipment without falling out of the display or tugging on the device like heavier HDMI cables. HDMI application solution for a flush wall-mounted UHD TV; Pair with an HDMI extender, HDMI switch, or HDMI splitter; cable coils easily for installation in tight or crowded spaces.

Fantastic HDMI cable

This is a lot better than the bulky 15ft cable I originally used to connect my PC to a plasma TV. This cable was so thick and stiff that it lost grip and would come loose whenever I moved my computer an inch one way or the other. In two months of use I haven't had any connection issues as some have mentioned in other reviews. To clarify, my computer is connected to a Sony A/V Receiver that feeds my TV.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Poor set

Worked as expected. I used this to create my .

Works as it should. I used it to project my 13" 4K laptop screen onto a 75" 4K TV and it worked fine. I tried the laptop's built-in Miracast to wirelessly project the screen to a TV, but there was too much 4K content and the mouse and video were very laggy. I guess I have to wait another 5 years for technology to catch up. At the same time, for a more stable 4K display, I only need to use a direct wired connection!

SPECIFIC HDMI INPUT

I can't speak to every low review but I returned this HDMI cable first after using it twice in a portable setup. The third time I tried to use it the screen was black and nothing was streaming to my displays (tried on multiple displays and devices to no avail). *CONCLUSION* After packing the HDMI cable for return, I noticed that one of the inputs said "TV" and the other "SOURCE". So I made another attempt at mapping inputs to devices and it worked. I then flipped the cable and was able to…

I bought two to replace the much older LUXE cables. Cable Matters was wrong. The cable is not adequately shielded to protect against electromagnetic interference. At the higher limits of HDMI 2.0 with 2160/60 RGB 8-bit full range, you will encounter many communication problems. After some tests it seems that I lose about 1% of the data in 1 minute. When I hit the 30th dropped frame I have a handshake issue and no HDMI is reported for 1-3 seconds regardless of the display (LG C9, CX etc.). When…

Video breaks easily - returned

I bought this cable to run a thin HDMI cable through a conduit. Turns out my cable duct had enough room for a thicker reversible HDMI cable anyway, so I'm using it now. After installing this cable, I found that any slight movement of the last 12 or so inches of the cable (the end of the TV) would cause the video to break. It would turn off for up to 3 seconds at a time. My TV is mounted on a hydraulic mount, so the cables need to be able to handle a bit of movement. Even though this HDMI cable…

Great when it really works.

I bought this cable to use with my Xbox OneX and yes I connected the correct end to my TV. The cable appears to be of good quality, the packaging and the cable organizer provided are excellent. The problem is that when I connect it to my Samsung 4k Smart TV, the Xbox image appears on the screen and after about 30-60 seconds the TV stops recognizing the input is connected to the TV. The TV reverts to a screen showing when there isn't even an HDMI cable connected to the TV. After I get up and…
