This works exactly how I wanted it to. I'm a teacher and part-time professor and my computer has mini HDMI, but the projectors in the classrooms and lecture halls have VGA connections. This worked great to solve the problem. I have it in my computer bag and I was attending a conference when one of the speakers had this exact connection issue. I was able to pull it out, loan it to the host, and the presentation that would have been canceled went off without a hitch.

I had my doubts but everything went as promised. I have a wonderful BenQ Joybee GP1 DLP SVGA projector that only has component and VGA inputs. just have to keep it to keep the connection good. Tried different devices, same thing. I use mini HDMI to get video from my Raspberry Pi Zero and running the program while holding the connector and crossing my fingers is barely enough. I don't need the monitor there most of the time so it did its job but it's annoying that it happened after only a few uses. Of course, the return window closed a week ago. I think I should have waited until the end of my trip to buy it.

At first I was satisfied because it was exactly what I needed in my class in China this summer to connect my laptop to the projector. BUT: when I took it off my laptop on the 3rd day of class to pack it up and go back to the workshop, it fell apart! The small metal connector part of the micro adapter got stuck in my laptop's slot and ruined my laptop's HDMI slot! If you never need to put down your laptop, this is for you. I bought this for a Raspberry Pi 3 build that needed to switch from HDMI to a VGA monitor and it worked great for its purpose! The quality is excellent, it works as it should. Bought just before leaving for a week long conference and needed a micro HDMI to VGA adapter. I bought this set as a basic two in one set (no mini adapter or 3.5mm audio required) and it arrived the day before I left.
