NOT suitable sync cable for Garmin Dezl

cable quality seems very good in the production category and durability therefore in these categories I will rate it 5 Stars, BUT in the area "data synchronization" (as advertised) I give it 1 star. I connected it to my Garmin Dezl and it only charges the device. I'm a Garmin Express and it clearly says 'not connected' and I can't update the device. I am unhappy with my purchase as I just need a replacement sync cable that I lost.

I was trying to use it in my car to power my Garmin Drivesmart 65. Unfortunately, when I use this cable in this way, my Garmin does not allow me to increase the brightness of the Garmin display. The Garmin displays a message asking me to use the Garmin-supplied cable. I bought this cable because it has an angled plug.
