This is a great gift for an elderly person who lives with someone at home. We have 2 bases and now we have about 6 buttons. Hang one on a chain, hang one halfway up the bathroom wall, put one by the bed, etc. Any time my parents need help, the nurse is just a phone call away. Nice and loud to wake up the nurse at night if needed. Should have gotten these years ago!

Works great. In a few months I will pick up my elderly mother. So I needed a way for her to call me if she needed help. In addition I bought these buttons and CallToU receivers. She can carry one, and the others are placed in her bathroom, on her nightstand, and at floor level next to her bed. That way if she ever needs help or falls, God forbid she can warn us if we're in another part of the house - I've installed receivers in the kitchen and bedroom. Intelligence. I highly recommend.

1/2 inch thick. A broken one showed tons of wasted space on the internal circuit board, so they could be smaller, probably an inch no problem. Maybe the large size is good for people with disabling arthritis? But I think it's more of a cheap production. They're made in China and come in 10 or more different names (in fact there's no name on the box or device) so buy what's cheaper and they'll work with any base that uses buttons that look the same .
