Very good product best on interior

This part takes less than a minute to replace. Don't hesitate if yours is plastic, replace it with this stainless steel lock. Just open the door, grab the cam lock and press the spring on the back, the plastic cam lock will release instantly, then reverse the process to install the new cam lock. It takes longer to ensure the water heater is off before changing the cam.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

  • Can't remember

IME, terrible for faucets

When I tried to install them the metal was so weak they couldn't even withstand their own spring force that came with them. There was nothing strange about my setup, the metal was so brittle. I ended up replacing them immediately as they didn't last, but in hindsight and when asked to review this product I was shocked that they were 'steel'. This is the softest "steel" I've ever tasted.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Works fine, why Two in a Box?

I have a brand new caravan and the water heater locking handle was plastic so I decided to buy and replace it before my plastic version broke in the sun. It was pretty easy to install and seems to be working fine. Not sure why they send two of these in the package as most apartments only need one of these bars. Assuming it's a way to get someone to pay more to get two instead of paying for one, but I guess I'll always have a spare, but I don't need it unless they're really rust free. They…

Camco Steel Clasp 09213

Preventive maintenance: New caravan has a plastic drawbar. I just don't want to get into instruments with a broken tongue. There are no instructions on the box, here's how to do it. 1. Remove the old tongue and spring. 2. On the new camlock, fully retract the spring. 3. Slide the tongue back and you will see the inside of the metal with grooves to slide off the tongue. 4. With the tab removed, install the spring and metal piece on the back of the panel opening. 5. Press and hold until a piece…

This is a "must see " for anyone who has an RV.

Have you ever seen a motorhome without a boiler cover? Have you ever wondered why? Well, the most common reason, especially on older motorhomes, is that the manufacturer has put a plastic fastener on the lid instead of a metal fastener. The catch is constantly exposed to ultraviolet light and will deteriorate over time. Eventually they fail and the remaining spring pushes the WH cover out to be picked up by the wind as you go down the road. That's why it's the first thing I replace in every RV…

The plastic clips have been replaced but they are a little loose

My plastic clip broke after years of use so I decided to use these metal clips as I thought they would hold up better. It wasn't that bad to install, but I still feel like it wobbles more than the old clip. Also, I've had a couple of times where I've opened the hatch (top of the RV water heater) and that clip has actually popped out of the hole it's installed in. street and let that hatch smack. It'll probably fly away, so I really don't know how comfortable I feel. Now I have it in place where

New Water Heater Door Latches

There are many different manufacturers of caravans, but many components are made by the same companies. Most van water heater access doors use these small clips to hold the door shut, but the originals are made of plastic and metal. The spring loaded part is metal and the tab that needs to be pulled and twisted to open the access door is made of plastic which can break. Here's what happened to mine. I saw that I had to buy a new one just like my old one and worry about it breaking again, or get
