This splitter works well. I have no problem with the direction of the hose connections. I recommend that you take it off in winter or at least make sure the levers are in the open position so there is no water inside. Any water inside will freeze and damage the case.

I've only used it about 6 times, today I noticed that water is leaking out of one side of the tee and turning the valve doesn't stop it. I took the hose and noticed that the pressed metal piece that the small plastic ball valves are attached to came loose and fell out of the valve completely.

It's metal but it seems quite stretchy and I'm worried about how long it will last. When it arrived the valves were very stiff which made me wonder if the plastic levers would come loose. I put some silicone on the accessible part and it helped a little. I don't expect this to last long.

I used this to have a lead free option around the house to go from my basement sink to my fridge lines (requires 2 other adapters). I had to screw the whole piece (rather than a separate top) but it worked without wires going straight to my washing machine. When I plugged in another plastic adapter for downsizing and then a metal adapter for the fridge, when I turned it on, water flowed everywhere at first. 6 wraps of tape and it turned gold. Hooray.

I like to slip them between my hose and spray tip, most male and female garden hose ends are metal and female. Most spray tip ends are metal, sometimes they corrode each other and are almost impossible to unscrew. Sometimes this results in damage to the hose or spray tip. I bought 3 of these 2 months ago. I used them to route hose branches around the garden so I didn't have to lug around the garden hose. I usually leave the faucet on all the time so they are under constant pressure for 6-8 weeks. Excellent hold. Valves open/close smoothly. Good value hose divider, we used this for about a year to route two different hoses outside. It doesn't have any special fittings or o-rings, so it needs to be a tight fit, and it might not be the easiest position on your spigot to do this. The controls now don't stop in the off position, so it can be difficult to make sure they're fully in the off position to keep small amounts of water from constantly dripping from the hose.
