This item appears to be made of good quality plastic but is very light. It is so light that even slight movements of the hose can cause it to fall off. It seems that if the item were just a few ounces heavier that would greatly eliminate this problem. We love this stand. When we first tried Camco's metal water filter stand, you had to stick the stand's legs into the ground. As you can imagine, this doesn't always work.
