very nice step shoes

These are great kids' shoes. I ordered a size up so they're a little big on my daughter's foot, but we can tie the band tight enough to keep them in place to give her room to grow during dance season. They also have a nice pad on the back of the shoe that rubs against the heel/ankle which I thought was really nice.

Pros
  • Adorable and high quality slippers. Simply order wider and larger!
Cons
  • Not universal for other dance styles.

Narrow but works like a shoe

Works as intended. Looks good but gets dirty and scratched easily. The photo was taken just after my daughter tried it out at home. The size is very small. We had to switch to W, which isn't too far either, but at least it suits her.

Pros
  • They're tight but fit, that's a plus. She says they're not uncomfortable and can't wait to dance in them!
Cons
  • These shoes are very small and narrow. I suggest either going up a size or ordering a wider fit.

Keep coming back to my review

These are the perfect shoes for a toddler, it's hard to find the right shoes for them, these shoes will fit and last through the entire dance season and maybe even longer if they don't outgrow them. They set it up so you can try on before you buy and I had to order several to find the right fit, but it's a smooth transition.

Pros
  • My daughter loves her. She loves the sound they make when she dances on them.
Cons
  • Hermosos pero me llegaron pequeños

Good shoes for beginners, the best in my rating

I bought these shoes for my 6 year old daughter who just started tap dancing. He arrived on time and Amazon's logistics made sure he got here before their class. Fits great and we ordered size 1. Fits great and has a little more room to grow.

Pros
  • This product does everything it promises. The quality is high.
Cons
  • Limited traction on slippery surfaces

Slippers my pros and cons

Originally ordered the standard 7.5 but they were too difficult to put on and take off. Sent back and ordered an 8.5, fits perfectly. My niece loves them!

Pros
  • Nice!
Cons
  • Slightly scratched and damaged

Overall ok my rating

Definitely a little smaller than expected, but I read the reviews and ordered a size up. It tore a little after being worn in a dance studio for 20 minutes.

Pros
  • The strap at the top seems a bit tight but my 3 year old daughter said they didn't hurt her legs.
Cons
  • They fit perfectly everywhere except the top where the lace goes; it's pretty tight.

Excellent quality in my rating.

I ordered 10 wide because my 4 year old is cursed with wide feet but they still seem narrow. The elastic at the toe practically cut off circulation so I was tempted to cut it off (then I'm doomed if it comes loose during the dance). Otherwise excellent quality and I paid a great price compared to other places selling Capezios.

Pros
  • Great shoes, will buy them again when she outgrows the pair she has now.
Cons
  • Not adjustable for wider/narrower feet.

Wrong size in my opinion

The shoe is very well made, but unfortunately has to be returned. I ordered 7M and couldn't try them on because they are too tight. I will ask for 7.5 wide and try it. - I reordered and 7.5W fit Well, there is still room for improvement. Very happy with the fast shipping and service from Capezio & Walmart!

Pros
  • Exactly what we need for the first year of dance
Cons
  • Only suitable for young dancers

Ideal for beginners

My granddaughter loves shoes. She gets dressed and dances around my house. I bought them for her because she loves to dance and I thought the tap shoes would go really well with her. Fits great, just the right size

Pros
  • It's okay, my daughter likes it and it's time
Cons
  • Limited support in the sole

Had to send back: my review

Got a refund. I think that this size is not enough for us. I was very shocked when they arrived and they tumbled up and down on her heel.

Pros
  • I was worried the shoes would be too stiff but my daughter was able to squeeze her little heart out of them. true size
Cons
  • The tap shoes were too small. I ordered a 7. I reordered a size 8.

No broad judgement

My daughter wears wide shoes. I ordered half a size up, wide, and I can't even fit her foot in it. It's anything but wide. I can't imagine how tight it will be? For a doll? Unreal

Pros
  • Sits well, holds up well, doesn't scratch. Good price!
Cons
  • This shoe runs small. My little girls needed 2x shoe size and width to fit.

Happy Little Tapper

Was on the ballet and tap waiting list and only had 3 days left so I needed to get my dance shoes fast. I knew how to order ballet but tapping is harder as the shoes should fit snugly and not slip. Also, patent leather is stiffer compared to soft ballerinas. Although we love Bloch ballerinas, I chose Capezio because I grew up wearing them. I did not deviate from the size chart, instead I ordered a half size up and a roomy size. Both girls (just turned 6 and turning 4 next month) don't have wide

Pros
  • Imported
Cons
  • I'll add later

So far, so good! - Athletic

These are our first pair of slippers so I have no comparison but they look great and my 3 year old loves them! You are very skinny! I ordered 9.5m first and couldn't get my foot in. I sent them back and received the 9.5w and they fit perfectly with little room to grow. Her teacher said that everyone always buys them too big to have room to grow and it's really bad for them, so I chose the right size. She is 3 years 3 months old and wears a size 9 in most shoes with little room to grow so I went

Pros
  • Faux Sole
Cons
  • Empty

Good shoes - order at least one size larger.

I ordered two pairs in two sizes for my daughters 4 and 6 years old. After reading reviews saying I should order a size up I decided to order a size and a half up to allow some room to grow as after six months I don't want to buy them again. I was a wide size and I think they still have the width of a 'regular' shoe, although I usually buy wide shoes for their casual shoes. Of course, a size and a half is a bit long for her, but I just let her wear thick plush socks, which works well because…

Pros
  • MDF mounted Tele Tone toe and heel pads, ribbed non-slip rubber pad.
Cons
  • Updates

Nice quality shoes but ridiculously tight!

Nice shoes, good quality but very narrow and this is a medium size. My daughter is small and doesn't have particularly wide legs. At 23 months she only wears normal shoes in size 5 or 5.5, the "W" (wide) shoes are too big for her. too tight and snuggly, i don't want to swing her legs. She goes to dance classes just for fun and as babies feet develop, tight shoes are detrimental to normal foot growth/development. They don't offer a size 6 wide so I had to downsize to a 6.5. Still ridiculously…

Pros
  • Achilles notch with padded collar for comfort, elasticated eyelets, large ribbed band
Cons
  • not sure

Studio owner's opinion

I am a dance studio owner and also a mother to a 5-year-old tap dancer. The reason I chose the Capezio over the Bloch tap shoes is the sock shape. My daughter's toes are straighter from thumb to pinky meaning they don't taper diagonally much. She doesn't have wide feet, but her Bloch shoes are curved at her toes in a way that pinches her fourth and little pinky fingers. Capezio's tap shoe is more rounded in the toe area, allowing more clearance for toes that are more angular or don't taper…

Pros
  • PVC top (black lacquer) and PU leather (caramel and white)
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Everything you need in a crane shoe!

These tap shoes are perfect! We have a second set of shoes. Capezio is a reliable brand that I trust (I was a dancer for 10 years). These are high quality shoes that will stand up to your throbbing toddler. I love that there is an elastic band to keep the shoe on the foot, not just a band to hold on to. You don't even have to use a ribbon if you want, but it looks prettier that way. I bought one size larger than my daughter wears. For example, my daughter wears regular size 8 shoes (Carters…

Pros
  • Start with shoes 1/2 to 1 size larger than regular shoes
Cons
  • New Competitors Are In

DO NOT follow the Capezio size chart!

I'm very angry right now! On Friday I found out that my 3 year old daughter is on the waiting list for ballet and tap classes starting tomorrow. I ordered them on Friday using Capezio's size chart. My daughter wears an 8 US and the chart says to order a 7. OK, the diagram is WRONG. These shoes are NOT equal to 8 US. You are too small! I should have ordered 8! I'm so pissed. I have no way of getting another order for your lesson. I'm having trouble figuring out where to go locally to get what I…

  • 100% Synthetic
