Vantrue = Quality best in my review

I recently purchased the Vantrue E1 dash camera and have been extremely impressed with its performance. The pocket-sized camera is captures crisp High Definition footage, and the HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology and F1.8 wide aperture lens make it ideal for capturing clear footage in dark situations. The built-in 2.4G WiFi and mobile app allow me to view the camera live, download videos, track GPS data, change settings, and share footage on social media with the tap of a finger. One of the…

Pros
  • On-Dash Cameras

Great Quality, Many Improvements On Previous Design

I have liked the camera so far. I think they made several improvements on their previous model that I used, although some may not be preferred.TLDR; I like it a lot, I would change some things, but they are mostly personal preferences over general user needs.Pros:Camera and microphone quality are great. The initial startup of the camera is a lot more helpful. When you disconnect the camera from the mount, it saves before powering off, so you do not lose the last recorded video.Video clips made…

Great budget dash cam with a minimal footprint

It's nearly a 5/5 star camera and regardless you'll be happy with this if you just want to protect yourself with a dash cam at a minimal investment. At $140-150, this camera might be a stretch but I also don't know what the $150 camera competition is like. If this came with an SD card or you can find it for $120-ish discounted I think it's totally worth it. I would still recommend this at full price but only if there is no other camera competition as good for the same price. You're also paying…

Pros
  • Mini But Powerful: The Vantrue E1 pocked-sized dash camera is equipped with a top-quality Sony CMOS sensor that's capable of capturing crisp 2592*1944P footage. It utilizes HDR (High Dynamic Range) Technology, F1.8 wide aperture lens and super night vision to increase exposure automatically in dark situations, read license plates clearly or spot obscure details that could act as important evidence in the event of an accident.
Cons
  • Some users may find the size of the camera to be too bulky or visually intrusive on their windshield

Small Form Factor DashCam With Awesome Video and Features

First, I have owned many DashCams. One of the little, but annoying things, on other DashCams, is the mount. It always works loose or gets knocked out of position. I put up a sunshield every day…and it tends to knock the camera out of position. I got into a habit of checking it each time I take down the sunshield. Well, Vantrue has solved this problem. I love the mount. It never gets knocked out of place. The mount comes with GPS built-in (that was nice). Since it has GPS it can also record your…

Pros
  • Indisputable Evidence: The built-in G-sensor automatically senses impact/collisions and saves emergency videos to a separate locked folder that can’t easily be erased. For more accessibility, Utilize the Wireless Controller to quickly control the car driving recorder to lock emergency videos, take pictures, & turn recording on/off.
Cons
  • The low-light performance of the night vision feature may leave something to be desired in poorly lit areas

Lots of power in such a small device.

My car is a Mustang, so there isn't much visibility anyway, so I was very impressed with the size of this dashcam. It doesn't take up much room in the way, yet still gives me access to see what is being recorded and what options are enabled. The camera has a good feel to it, not delicate but very solid. The ability to connect to it and see what was recorded is a great feature if you are in a situation where you don't have the time to go back to a computer and plug it in or pull the SD card…

Cons
  • The 24-hour parking mode could drain the car battery quickly if left on for extended periods

When I like something, and it works the way it is supposed to, i like to let people know.In today's day and age, I think its imperative EVERYONE has a dash-cam.There are a lot of choices, I am not sure why I picked the Vantrue, but I am glad I did. When I received the Vantrue, I opened the box, unwrapped everything, put the sim card in (sold Separately, ) and plugged it in.I downloaded the app they suggest, and it worked perfectly. I have already tested the play back, the recording is great…

Cons

Good so far, just no way to turn it off.

Install was easy. Only a few gripes right now. You can't turn the camera off unless you unplug it. Its always on using your car battery. Most of the time I'd like to turn it off when parked. Sure hope it doesn't drain my battery if I forget to unplug it.You need to connect to it from your phone using wifi. Your phone will have no internet while connected. If you disconnect from it, the camera will turn its wifi off, so you'll have to manually turn on the wifi through the camera menu itself to…

Element 1 - The good, the bad and the advanced

I've been a fan of the Vantrue company for a while, given their strong reliability, and they keep continuing to impress and develop new models with advanced features. This model is a very compact fun cam, with an excellent front-only recording (160 degrees angles) and a reasonable price point.Installation was straightforward and given the compact side, the cam looks nice and does not distract while driving. There are 4 physical buttons, on the device itself (for menu navigation and taking…

If Apple made a dashcam, it would be the E1

The quality of the packaging and unboxing experience is superlative. One of the interior boxes has both a circular die-cut and foil stamp. My inner designer is happy! The camera itself is a perfect cube (Apple made a cube computer, too), that you can get in different colors—I got the Navy blue to match my car's exterior and interior color scheme.Once the E1 is hardwired (I have it plugged into a cigarette outlet via the enclosed plug), you can pretty much set-it-and-forget-it. It Turns on…
