First, I have owned many DashCams. One of the little, but annoying things, on other DashCams, is the mount. It always works loose or gets knocked out of position. I put up a sunshield every day…and it tends to knock the camera out of position. I got into a habit of checking it each time I take down the sunshield. Well, Vantrue has solved this problem. I love the mount. It never gets knocked out of place.The mount comes with GPS built-in (that was nice). Since it has GPS it can also record your speed and automatically set the date and time. The camera can be removed from the mount easily. I used to bring mine into the house to edit settings. That’s not necessary anymore. The phone app with WiFi connections makes changing any of the settings very easy.The small form factor is extra nice. You can mount it just about anywhere and it will not be in the way. Normally I mount my DashCam to the right of, and behind, the rearview mirror. That makes it hard to verify the camera is on and/or recording. With Element 1, I mounted it at the top of the windshield just to the left of the mirror. And it is not in the way. I only notice it when I look up. The power cord was long enough to route from the left side of the mirror, across the top of the windshield on the right side, and down under the dash to the power port. I did verify it would reach before I mounted the camera.The video quality is outstanding. I use the 2560x1440P(HDR) 30FPS format. You can read license plates much easier than other cameras. You can even read highway signs going 80mph! Since it can handle a 512GB SD card, you can store many hours of video. I think they said 60.The Vantrue Player program is awesome (free from Vantrue). You can play a DashCam video on your computer. It will show the DashCam video, a map showing your location, your speed, and more! Also, the portion that shows where you are on the map, can be changed between a map view and a satellite view.How awesome is that!It comes with a small remote that can do a few things. Two of the things it can do is take a photo or turn the audio on/off. I did not think I would use this, but the first day I was behind a car with an interesting window sticker. I just pressed the button and took a photo. You can also use the voice command to do this.It also has voice commands. Voice commands are extremely handy when you are driving. Some of the commands are:Turn audio on/offTurn the screen on/offTurn WiFi on/offTake a photo (handy)Lock the video (very handy)Vantrue support is excellent! I normally received a response within 12 hours. Overall, I am very glad I purchased this camera. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
