The biggest downside is that when it gets hot, 80's and up, the rubber pads in the cup holder that hold it in place just slide off. The sticky stuff on the back just won't stay on the 3 retractable arms in the cup holder. My car was in the shade but the temp was over 80 and up. I got into the car and the frame tilted. Not helpful at all. Look at the clumps of white sticky material in the picture and how the rubber grips slide over the glide arms.

If you have a cup holder that is far back, say behind the drive controls, you will be disappointed. You can't set it to face you. moves easily and the base lever allows for tilting. So you essentially have a HIGH extension that you still can't see for sure while driving. Essentially the same as putting your phone right in the cup holder! I've found this might work, it's more of a gooseneck where you can have a few curves. But vibration can be a problem. wanted to like!

Wow. high enough for me My issue with the Ford Escape is that the shorter cup holder brackets place the phone even with the gear stick and you can't shift properly because the gear stick is blocked by the installed phone. This is because of where the cup holder is in relation to the switch. This element is the perfect height, lifting the phone way above the switch. Durable, made of plastic, easy to adjust.
