I bought this item for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and took it to the dealer. They programmed it into my car and it worked great, no hassles no problems and I only had to pay $83 to get the program from my dealer.

Bought to replace the key fob for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately I thought I could do it myself. I had to take it to Smith's lock to use it, but it's been working great ever since.

Professional programming required. You can not do it. You will need a special tool and/or DRB 3. I've been using it for 3 months now. Works like a champ. The only thing you have to do after programming is change the battery. God knows how often they are ordered and my battery is drained from sitting on the shelf for long periods of time.
