We bought this for my high school grandson to stand out in his yearbook photos. His school requires boys to wear a jacket and tie. (!) Everyone came in a jacket and tie, except for one exuberant guy with an elaborate bow tie. He definitely stood out and he liked that bright pattern.

The clarinet section of our High School Brass Symphony competed in solo and ensemble competitions. The cast all wore different colored bow ties to match their black, tuxedo-like shirts. We bought the director a colorful butterfly. The group looked *hot*! The tie looked like a real silk thin bow tie (and not at all cartoonish) and really unified the group's overall "image".

Nice tie. Bright colors. BUT: The adjustable neck strap is also too short here. Since my son likes the tie very much, I will change the neckband. If your neck measurement is 15 inches or less, do not buy this tie.

I usually wear some kind of fancy tie for a special event we go to every year, this year I chose a bow tie, it was a hit as some of my friends copied my old ties.
