Nice looking crayons

I bought these because I liked the look and they needed to be of the highest quality. I would say they are of the highest quality but they are different from other colored pencils. They are neither hard nor soft Prismacolor. I have found that they work best when layered. The colors could apply better from the first stroke and be a bit brighter for my taste. But I'm glad I have them, they fill a niche and they're beautiful. I also tried polychromos FC. They are a bit lighter and firmer, but lay…

Pros
  • Creamy soft waterproof
Cons
  • Expensive

These are good pencils, quite thin with a hexagonal body. They don't lay down as smooth as my FC Polychromos pens, but they're still pretty good and come in some interesting color combinations beyond this small set of 18 pens. Content falls somewhere between these two dominant types. Most of the colored pencils in my set are very smooth with pigment, but I've had a few that were a bit scratchy, maybe it's just their novelty. Buy a few from the online store and try them out before you buy a…

Pros
  • Art, drawing and craft supplies
Cons
  • Unfashionable

I bought this set of Caran D'ache Pablo colored pencils.

I bought this set of Caran D'ache Pablo colored pencils in the hope that the other reviewers were right when they said they sharpen exceptionally well and keep a sharp point, and they did! I've also found that this pen can be used as a first layer to fill in a paper tooth more completely with light to medium pressure if you prefer not to see as much white on paper with a large tooth and don't want to use thinner. I use these pencils with Caran D'ache Luminence Colored Pencils and they work…

High quality very clear colored pencils

While the Luminance line is still the best line of colored pencils in terms of opacity and opacity, it is also expensive. The Pablo line suits my needs better, not only because it's cheaper than Luminance but also delivers quality. Pablo's colored pencils are transparent, so when layering colors you still get the most impact from the lowest layers. Crayons can really be mixed up for more variety, so a pack of 18 is more than enough if you're willing to learn color theory, especially with…

Pros
  • Pencils
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other sets
