Replaced throttle cable 07 KLR 650

I like removing cables and thumb levers. The piston on the new unit is a bit tight but I will adjust it after some use. I'm still getting used to reaching for the new throttle grip. When I actually walk, I always have the choke fully disengaged, so there's no problem using it while driving.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Use the original spring and pivot from the bike!

Good stuff. Looks like many others but about $10-15 cheaper. The spring that comes with this device is too strong and it will take you a long time to try to reinsert the pen. At least with the KLR 650/CVK 40. Keep the choke running and thread it into the carburetor. Tighten 13mm and you're done. Works perfectly. :)

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Powered by 07 clr - Carburettor

For 2007 clr 650. Supplied in a plastic zip-top Harley bag. Which makes sense since the cvk40 carburetor is used by both. Cheaper parts when you buy a Harley brand. Before I install the carburetor I'll definitely compare the stock and that. They looked exactly the same. Initially, the bile did not lag, it is necessary to tighten the nut by 10 mm at the back. Main nut 12mm. It works great on my bike. Probably traveled a mile. Will report if anything changes

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Long lead time

Excellent KLR 650 Mod

After working on my 2016 KLR 650 I accidentally broke the old plastic cable butt going to the handlebars. I wanted to make some room for cables from the handlebars and that was a great upgrade. You will need to reuse the needle/piston from the old throttle cable and attach it to the new throttle. Works perfectly. A little harder to get to, but that's ok. The construction and craftsmanship on this one is good. It seems that it will stand for a long time.

Pros
  • Certified

Better than standard junk plastic

Works great on my 08 KLR 650. Seems well built and half the price of other options. The only thing that really bothers me is that it can't hold itself open so I have to keep my hand next to the carburetor for a few seconds while the bike starts. Also, it appears that in order to activate the enrichment circuit, it has to be pulled *all* out with a gentle pull. However, there is an adjustment nut I could play around with to see if I can find a good middle ground. Also, it arrived quickly…

Will not fit my fuel system

This choke cable catcher was a quality piece of equipment. The only problem for me was that it didn't work. I have a 2014 KLR650 and I broke the plastic carburetor restrictor nut that holds the enrichment piston. So I decided to go this route. Once installed, this enricher seemed to do nothing whether pulled out or inserted. So I bought a new cable enrichment nut and reinstalled the cable. Now the conditioner works like new. Can't tell why this aftermarket enricher didn't work. It either never…

Quality check is required before shipment.

Purchased for my 2007 KLR650 --- DOES NOT WORK AT ALL -- Looks great with a perfect fit and finish. Looks just like the stock parts, bolted together perfectly. I really wanted this to work on my bike. I put the stock valve back in and it works as it should. I tried again and nothing works. As far as I can tell, it doesn't retract far enough to hit the throttle. I could put it on a lathe and fix it properly - I think; The pin just needs to be planted deeper into the body.
