Superb repair kit

As this was my first purchase of this brand I didn't know what to expect. This is the best silver solder I have ever used. I have refurbished two quality headphones and there are still a few left. Will definitely be making another purchase soon.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Is that what they say?

I am assuming that if you are selling Cardas solder it will come with maker's marks. This solder is wrapped around a wooden dowel with no indication that it is actually a Cardas product. In fact, it can be any solder. Who knows?

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • ill thought out

Expensive but worth it

Expensive but worth it. Most eutectic lead solders are more similar than different, but this material really stands out. I didn't think solder could be so different. This is by far the easiest solder I've ever worked with as it has a significantly lower temperature than most. It flows so easily that I feel like I should have used this material since I was a beginner. it would have gone much more smoothly. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not automatic

Possibly for critical soldering. Too expensive for everyday use.

Solder for 14 gauge speaker wire. It went well and ended beautifully. However, I see no way to use such an expensive material in non-critical applications. If you are making a single solder point in a sensitive circuit, this solder may be required. However, if the connection made is one of several, you are wasting your money. I'm using this solder out of curiosity to see how it works and haven't noticed any noticeable difference between this and any standard solder.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • functionality

Happy to have the best sonic formula available in a small spool

I am new to soldering and was glad this small quantity was available to purchase as I have heard that Cardas solder has been used many times has been called the best suitable for soldering audio electronics. It worked for me as described - melted quickly and gave me a strong, durable bond. How much better it is than other solders I can't say. This little spool will last a long time and is just what I need for my infrequent use. But if I need solder I make sure I use the best formula for working

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Speed of operation

Yes. A small roll of Cardas (hopefully) solder.

As with some other reviews you have to trust the seller, quality solder is used here. There's nothing on the reel to suggest that. Could have spent a little time wrapping the solder in a smoother spool to make it look nicer. I would. I used it to solder the connectors in my speakers. The manufacturer uses plug connections. Eleven feet will last me a lifetime. This is important if you have a good enough audio system.

Pros
  • Quadruple eutectic coil materials: Sn, Pb, Cu, Ag. Silver for higher conductivity and stronger solder joints
Cons
  • I will add later

Works well. Nice shiny solder.

First I bought a small roll to test. I'm used to using it so I bought a bigger roll. Which is way better than small if you're soldering a lot. I like it. There is not much difference in using this solder compared to some other solders. They do what they're supposed to do. You can play around with the temperature to find what works best for you. This gives me nice shiny solder joints. Whether they get better is unknown. I like to think I'm using good things!

Pros
  • Total length for sale is 11 feet Cardas solder wound on a wooden spool
Cons
  • Something else
