Perfect for Central California weather. Very soft lining and water-repellent outer layer. My son can move freely in it as it is quite thin. Not recommended as a winter coat in very cold climates. I bought this for my almost 4 year old son who is a solid size 4T. This jacket fits him EXACTLY. For example, if it grows, it will not fit. Or even if there is a bulky shirt or sweater underneath. I ended up bringing him back because I needed something with more bang for the buck in case he grows up. So I would definitely go up a size if you're hoping for longer wear.
