I had to return this player as it had a lot of extra electrical noise caused by the motor.

I had to return this player as it had a lot of extra noise that got louder depending on the position. The noise was lower in the horizontal position, but the noise was downright unpleasant from the side. Noise can be described as an "engine". It turned out that the noise was due to some mechanical problems moving the tape.
