Nice cutting board. You can use one side for meat and the other side for vegetables. Like all wood planks, it must be treated with food grade mineral oil and wax.

This chopping board is nice and thick, but mine cracked on the top and sides after 6 months of use. It's been soaked in oil several times and has never been soaked in water, so I'm surprised at how quickly it fell apart. The return window must also be longer than 30 days.

Love that they are still available. The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) has approved maple as a safe means of inhibiting bacterial growth around food. I don't trust bamboo because it's porous at the ends (bacterial havens, if you will). It may be sealed at the time of sale, but time flies etc. etc. etc.

Wood starting to crack after a few uses as shown in the photos. The cutting board was only hand washed and we don't cook that often (maximum 3-4 times a week). We even treated the cutting board with cooking oil upon receipt and several times after use. This product is not built to last. Qualitatively disappointed.

I was delighted with this new cutting board for my apartment but after washing it in warm water on the day of purchase the board broke and grew larger each time it was used. Now I only use it when I'm cooking or cooking a lot so I don't mess up the board even more. Cracking aside, this is a good board for cutting things up (hence it gets two stars).

Of course I bought this at a small discount because it was a Revain stock offer. Therefore, damage to the original packaging was to be expected. However, we found a crack on the back of the board and it looks like there is some kind of resin filling in that crack. I am returning the product, but I am assuming that this board is not made of solid wood.

Cardboard needs to be oiled, softened and warped too often after a few months of use. I found I had to oil the board at least once a week, but even then it looked brittle and dry. I never washed it or put it in water but it still deformed as you can see in the picture. I have used good quality mineral oil and beeswax so the product I have processed is not a problem.

I bought this because I needed a nice looking cheese board for fun. When it arrived I was very pleased with how beautiful it was. The design is beautiful and the cherry tree is very pretty. I treated it with mineral oil after first use because soft cheeses stuck to it and it was difficult to clean easily after use. Mineral oil also accentuates the texture and color of the wood, making it even more beautiful and easier to maintain.
