Pleasantly surprised

That was a great purchase. I have an 85ft cable to connect an Asus RT AX92U router to a Fios ONT. I used to use 100ft Cat 5e cable. I'm on a gigabit plan and have rarely surpassed the 700Mbps range and a ping of around 13-17 when testing with Ookla. Installed this new Cat7 cable and everything is buzzing. I get 6-9 pings and 850 Mbps up and down. I assume the extra shielding will get you closer to max speed. I'll take it and have it set to 10 gigabits per second now if Fios ever gets there.

Covid-19 update for work from home

I used WiFi through the house for TV and TV. Then Covid-19 came and I started working remotely from home and actively working on CAD projects. I have speeds alongside WiFi at 18-24Mbps. With 1-10Gbps high speed internet coming up my street soon, I figured that in the long run by investing $100 in Cat7 I'd save the was ahead of what is to come. Meanwhile, with a local cable TV provider, these cables boost my speeds to 118Mbps. I have them connected to both my wife and my home office via a 5-port

Shielded CAT8 cable - choose carefully

I have to say I was very impressed with the design and construction of this cable. I bought three of these for an audio system I was working on and I am very happy with them: 1.) Sturdy cable 2.) Thick outer casing 3.) High quality Eth connectors with a secure fit and locking mechanism 4.) They are shielded - protects RFI and EMI and your Ethernet TCP internal5.) Shielded - and connected to ground at both ends. Number 5 can be a big headache when you have two devices communicating over eth that
