Replaced the USB 2.0 hub with this one. I plugged it in and everything works great except when MY iMac desktop goes to sleep. Once mine goes to sleep it actually becomes unresponsive to mouse, keyboard and clicks, taps etc on the buttons. The only way to restart my iMac is to unplug my iMac, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. I've had my iMac for four years and haven't had any problems. Others seem to have similar problems. I wasn't looking for a suitable replacement.

Happy with performance so far

Bought for my new MacBook Pro with USB 3.0 inputs. I connected an external hard drive that I use for my Time Machine. Satisfied with the performance so far. But the hard drive is not USB 3.0. However, I have transferred images from my SD card using this hub. Really very fast. To make sure everything works as ordered, I bought a Cateck DC 5V 2A/2000mAh Charger, 3.5mm Power Adapter to ensure my peripherals get enough power to stay connected. If I find the hub to be faulty in any way I will…

Looks nice though.

It looks very nice, but the USB connectors don't fit the USB holes at all. One of the holes inserted my flash drive at an angle. I have a new MAC desktop and bought it because it's inconvenient to plug USB devices into the back of the MAC, but they didn't ask my opinion before designing it! So I was really hoping this would work. The moment I plugged it in, I got an error message. I inserted my SD card and it read it, so I ignored the error message. But I will continue to test whether this…

Stopped working after a month and a half

Connected and gone. One day my computer started to slow down. I restarted my computer and nothing happened. I thought my motherboard or processor died. I ended up restarting it and leaving it for a while. After 30 minutes I came back and saw that Windows was loading. So slow. It turned out that the problem lies in this node. After I disabled it and restarted, the computer started fine. I try to reconnect the hub and it shows up in Device Manager but doesn't work. The computer freezes when I try

Current state of the art; not good

Firstly I like the look of this thing but as others have said the main cable is a bit thick. But none of that matters if the advertised core functionality doesn't work. The main problem I have is that it is not backwards compatible with older SD cards. I do not understand. Nothing shows up. After about 2 minutes, when I manually double-click the USB drive (G: in this case), Win gives an I/O error. I have several offline 3D printers and only use old SD cards for them. Also plugging in a device…

Why have I waited so long?

finally got this item after 5 years of trying to make USB connections to my iMac. The product looks very high-quality and looks great with the aluminum iMac, as well as the keyboard and trackpad. You might think this is an Apple OEM product. The item was beautifully packaged in a box and both items were sealed in plastic. Includes a white cable instead of the traditional black, which blends in well with the look of Apple products. The item has a small round hole on the back, like it's lined…

Update to replace older slower hubs but unusual at first

This hub replaces one I've been using for a long time because it was the old slow USB format. My old one was a Belkin hub with 5 ports in the back and 2 in the front for easy access. It came with a large transformer so as not to overload your computer if you happen to plug in more than one device that requires more power than your computer's bus can provide. In the case of Catec hardware, it's an attractive little box that tries to achieve the look of an Apple keyboard or hardware trackpad…
