Easy to read flesh

I used this for Thanksgiving and it worked really well. It's easy to read and I assume it's accurate, plus it doesn't melt like other brands I've had before. I didn't give it 5 stars because I can't bring myself to "love" a meat thermometer ;)

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

too big for me but looks great

I think I'd love it but HUGE! Didn't use it and immediately returned it just because I couldn't see myself using it for anything other than a giant turkey lol. Disappointed because it looks like it will be great

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Clarity

Best meat for 3 months

Bought three months ago and at first everything worked. After 3 months I overcooked the chicken because it was obvious it was undercooked. Tested under hot tap water with two other thermometers. The other 2 showed 119 degrees (the water heater is set at 120) and this one showed about 75 degrees. Garbage!

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions

Short lifespan best in kitchen and dining room

Very disappointed with this. I liked the large, easy-to-read dial and the fact that it can be washed in the oven or in the dishwasher. I've never put it in the dishwasher. Especially since I was amazed to find that it no longer worked almost a year after buying it. Only used twice. Wouldn't buy again. I thought CDN makes products better than this one :-(

It's not up to pacemaker standards, but it's fine.

Bought this thermometer to cook on a gas grill. I've used it about 20 times so far. I stick the probe right into the meat and close the lid. I make sure the dial doesn't touch the cooking grate, as per the instructions. If the flesh is not dense enough, such as For example, a filet mignon may not support the weight of the thermometer, so I rest the thermometer's dial on a small rock that is placed on the grate to provide support when needed. I did it once with good results. This thermometer…
