This particular switch works well with fans that have series capacitors for speed control. In my case, Low = goes through one 5mfd, Medium = goes through two 5mfds in parallel, and High = goes straight to the fan motor.

This ceiling fan switch was a real find. It was very easy to install. It took less than ten minutes to remove the faulty switch and install a new one. I enthusiastically recommend this product. Good value for money.

This was an identical part that I replaced in my Hunter ceiling fan. Installation is pretty easy as you only need to remove the lighting kit instead of removing the entire fan. Anytime you work on a fan, I highly recommend taking a picture with your phone before cutting any wires or removing any parts.

Connection wires just have to be pulled out. They don't. They have to be pulled out with pliers or something and I broke one of them at the switch. I had to use wire strippers, glad I had enough cable to get enough length of twisted wires to put in after they bunched up and didn't want to go in. After some effort, the Hunter fan now works as it should.

Installs on a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. The original wires were too thin for this item and had to be soldered. Worked fine for 2 days and then stopped working altogether. Flashed for the second time. Worked fine again for 2 days. Now only 2 speeds work, after a few days none of the fan speeds work anymore. What's even stranger is that it turned on at high speed in the middle of the night, worked for several hours and stopped working. I will buy a new fan to fix the problem.
